I live in Fredericton, New Brunswick. I started writing for theatre after taking a creative writing course. It became a passion, one I started to wonder if I'd keep to myself forever. But after a number of years, several workshops, a little luck, and a lot of help from friends, I landed my first professional production - Between Friends - which was staged at the Lighthouse Festival Theatre in the summer of 2008.
"Between Friends has audiences rolling in the aisles during the comedic parts and sitting spellbound and silent when the mood on stage turns a little more serious." - Port Dover Maple Leaf
My next play - Grounded - was premiered at Lighthouse in August 2009 under the direction of Chris McHarge.
"Last season Lighthouse was the launching pad of Spurway's first play Between Friends. With Grounded, he solidifies his position as a successful playwright in theatrical comedy." - Simcoe Reformer
Jessie's Landing had its premiere run at Lighthouse Festival Theatre in Port Dover, Ontario in the summer of 2011. The director was Mark Schoenberg.
"Expect, if not a tear or two, at least a few goose bump moments." - Port Dover Maple Leaf Summer Living
And my latest play, The Numbers Game had its world premiere at Theatre Orangeville under the direction of David Nairn in October of 2013.
"The Numbers Game is laugh out loud funny." - Orangeville Citizen
The Numbers Game was produced at the Bluewater Summer Playhouse August 5-16, 2014.
